Mariam Ashraf

Biography

Mariam is an associate attorney at Kondori & Moorad, LLP, and primarily practices in the area of elder law. Inspired by her international upbringing and the unwavering support and belief of her parents, Mariam always dreamt of becoming an attorney and helping those around her from a very young age.

Mariam completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Toronto in Canada, where she was elected Vice President of the Political Science and Pre-Law Association. Thereafter, Mariam obtained her law degree from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom while serving as the Department Representative for her graduating class, and being published in the Leicester Law Review. She then came back to Canada and completed her LLM from Osgoode Hall, York University. Soon after, Mariam moved to the United States and completed her second LLM from the George Washington University and served on the University’s Integrity and Conduct Panel. Through her educational journey, Mariam gained a deeper understand of not only the field of law and the legal profession, but also developed a deep respect and understanding for family values, various cultures, communities, and viewpoints.

Mariam enjoys and finds invaluable her volunteer work with the DC Bar Future Planning and Probate Program, as well as the DC Volunteer Lawyers’ Project. Outside of her legal practice, Mariam enjoys traveling, international sports, and exploring different cuisines.

Mariam is currently admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and is pending licensure in the State of Maryland.
