Rebecca Lewis is a Fiduciary Accountant at Kondori & Moorad, LLP. She is responsible for preparing and submitting the court-required financial accountings associated with conservatorships, estates, trusts, and other fiduciary matters.
Rebecca reviews and reconciles financial activity involving bank accounts, investment and brokerage accounts, retirement plans, pensions, annuities, life-insurance policies, real property, income sources, expenses, transfers, and distributions. Her work requires the organization and analysis of substantial financial records over extended reporting periods.
She prepares accountings for submission to the Commissioners of Accounts in the jurisdictions where the firm serves in fiduciary capacities. She also communicates with auditors and reviewing personnel to answer questions, supply supporting documentation, address discrepancies, and help ensure that each accounting satisfies applicable reporting requirements.
Rebecca’s role extends beyond the preparation of forms. She reconstructs financial histories, traces transactions among multiple accounts, identifies missing or inconsistent information, confirms beginning and ending balances, and ensures that the financial activity reflected in the accounting corresponds with the available supporting records.
Her command of accounting software, spreadsheets, reconciliation systems, and financial documentation allows her to organize complex matters and identify issues before an accounting is submitted for review. This detailed work is central to maintaining accurate records, meeting court deadlines, and demonstrating responsible administration of assets entrusted to a fiduciary.
Rebecca earned her degree in Finance from Oregon State University. During college, she gained experience in corporate accounting and finance and with a certified public accounting firm, where she assisted with the preparation of individual federal and state income-tax returns. These experiences provided her with a foundation in financial reporting, tax documentation, reconciliation, and internal systems.
